ASQ-LED-DI Disease and How to Cure It Webinar

May 10, 2017 @ 1:30 pm - 2:45 pm UTC+0
WEBINAR

"My name is Mr. Engineer and I have the D-I disease. I have a problem and within 5 minutes have defined it and decided how to solve it, then spend the next 6 months trying to implement a solution and band aiding the symptoms to get the job done and the worst part is I get emotionally tied to a bad solution." The D (Define)-I (Implement) disease is a terrible disease afflicting so many of us who pride ourselves on being great problem solvers. The result is the Plant is running us as opposed to us running the Plant. The Plant never runs out of problems for us to solve because we rarely actually solve the problem, we either treat a symptom or create a work around. The Plant loves us D-I Leaders because it works us to death. This presentation with multiple case studies from actual implementations will show how to cure the D-I disease by adding the M-A & C back into the DMAIC process. The lessons learned & best practices will come from a wide range of implementations from large and small organizations including; Newport News Shipbuilding, U.S. Navy, TESCO Corporation, Busch LLC, Bauer Compressors, Alcoa Power and Propulsion, MBI, Inc., and Ball Metal.

How do dream teams make more money: “Heartbeat” leaders first workshop (Williamsburg, VA)

June 13, 2017 @ 8:00 am - June 14, 2017 @ 5:00 pm UTC+0
Ball Metal Beverage Packaging, 8935 Pocahontas Trail
Williamsburg, VA 23185 United States

This workshop will teach attendees high performance team theory, share lessons learned and best practices, and generate a rich learning environment to help any team improve their business performance. What do lean best practice companies have in common? “Heartbeat” leaders whose performance is the leading indicator of the core business metrics: team engagement, cost, schedule, quality and safety. We call them different names, like foreman, charge nurses or team leaders, but they serve the same key roles regardless of location, and they get the job done. If they have a good day, everyone has a good day. If they have a bad day, everyone has a bad day. This workshop will shine a spotlight on how to identify, train, prepare and develop heartbeat leaders so their first day is a performance day and not a "let's see how this goes" day. Ultimately, these heartbeat leaders lead dream teams who understand that improving workforce productivity means lowering labor cost while increasing revenue, thus taking care of the team out of increased profit.
