Hampton, VA – October 25, 2024, Welder of the Quarter In celebrating excellence and skill development, Joe Barto, TMG President and Founder, joined forces with Ed Dupree, Welding Instructor at New Horizons Regional Education Centers, to honor two exemplary welding students as the Welders of the Quarter. TMG has supported NHREC, specifically Ed and the Welding class, since 2004.  The recognition ceremony took place at the Butler Farm Campus, where Mr. Barto highlighted these students’ essential roles in the workforce, particularly in the Defense industry. He noted to the students that they are the upcoming generation of individuals who will be the backbone of our future industrial growth and that he believes in them! Their commitment to mastering their craft today will impact our nation’s security and set them up for success. The Welders of the Quarter, Grant Gibson from the morning class and Carter Knaub from the afternoon class, were selected based on their dedication, skill proficiency, and exemplary work ethic. During the ceremony, Scott Gordan from Newport News Shipbuilding attended to echo the importance of industrial defense-based careers and congratulate the students.
